How do I install a Native Seed Library in my neighborhood?
Native Seed Libraries are the equivalent of lending libraries for books, but instead focus on sharing seeds of native San Diego plants. These are a great way to spread the word about the importance of native plants to support birds, other wildlife, and pollinators. You can find a map of our current seed libraries here.
We are looking for additional places to install libraries. These can go in your yard, or within the community such as at libraries, community gardens, or schools. Once you create the physical structure, we provide the first batch of seeds and all needed outreach materials and signage. Find out more by emailing us at Nativeseedlibrary@sandiegobirdalliance.org.
