Sandy McCann
Sandy leverages over a decade of experience in leadership, storytelling, and content development across San Diego’s top cultural and conservation institutions, including the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and the San Diego Natural History Museum. In her previous role, she developed content for the Zoo and Safari Park that highlighted conservation initiatives and nurtured a love of nature. Earlier in her professional career, Sandy worked with a talented team to take Coast to Cactus in Southern California, The Nat’s award-winning exhibition dedicated to the diversity of our southern California habitats and species, from concept to completion.
Sandy holds a degree in Sociocultural Anthropology and Biology from the University of California San Diego and a Master’s degree in Museum Studies focusing on content development from Johns Hopkins University. She has served on several boards including the founding board of San Diego’s Emerging Museum Professionals and local school and Little League boards.
Sandy is passionate about creating inclusive experiences that inspire conservation action and build a better world for wildlife and people.
