Hailey Matthews
Hailey is a recent UC San Diego graduate and California Climate Action Fellow specializing in wildfire resiliency at Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary and Anstine Nature Preserve.
Hailey participates in predator-monitoring initiatives through the San Diego Bird Alliance, focusing on safeguarding the nesting sites of the endangered California Least Tern. Passionate about wildlife advocacy, she has also engaged in efforts to promote the use of native San Diego flora critical for birds and pollinators in San Diego through SDBA’s Earth Advocates program.
Driven by a commitment to environmental stewardship, Hailey strives to create sustainable solutions that protect both terrestrial and marine ecosystems. In her free time, she enjoys tidepooling, camping, crocheting, and making jewelry.
