Mulching Party at Port of San Diego Sweetwater Bike Path

Saturday, April 22, 2023
9:30 am1:00 pm
Sweetwater Bike Path, Port of San Diego

Join San Diego Audubon as we restore habitat for birds and other local wildlife!

We're looking forward to removing invasive plants and spreading mulch to keep the native plants we've planting over the last few months near the Port of San Diego's Sweetwater Bike Path free from more invasives. We planted three times at this location since the end of 2022 - those plants are looking great thanks to all the recent rains.

Below you'll find all the details for the event:

When: Saturday, April 22nd at 9:30 AM

Where: This site is a little bit tricky to get to due to construction, but the address to plug into your navigation app is 890 Lagoon Dr, Chula Vista, CA 91910.
Note: We are not meeting at 890 Lagoon Dr, this is simply the best address to plug in for navigation. Closer addresses will direct you to take roads that are closed off. Continue driving past this address to park towards the end of Lagoon Drive. Walk down until you reach the bike path and take a left until you see our outreach table and tent by the steel bridge.

What to Bring: Please come prepared with close-toed shoots and layers in the case of cold or windy weather. We'll provide all the tools needed for digging and planting, gloves, snacks and extra water so please bring a reusable water bottle.

RSVP at the link above or email santamaria@sandiegoaudubon. Deciding last minute? No worries - show up when you can.
