Morning after Mess - July 5th Cleanup with SD River Park Foundation
Join San Diego Audubon and the San Diego River Park Foundation for the "Morning after Mess" beach clean-up! We will be working to pick up any lingering trash from the Fourth of July celebrations at the mouth of the San Diego River.
This is also the location of the Ocean Beach Estuary Enhancement Plan, a project which seeks to protect the sand dune, mudflat and wetland habitat just east of Dog Beach, in the SD River channel. This area is of significant importance to resident and migratory birds, and the area often experiences high rates of disturbance from humans and dogs. The Enhancement Plan will protect birds by improving the trail and signage system so fewer people enter the off-limits wetland areas and the Southern Wildlife Preserve.
