SDAS Species Count 2023 results!

Thank you all for participating in our second year of hosting  City Nature Challenge! It was a very successful event.

This year we did have 3 locations that we have been restoring: Tijuana Slough, Sweetwater Bike Path, and San Diego River Mouth. It was a great opportunity to explore and see how our restoration efforts have been working in these areas.

We recorded a total of 673 observations, with 226 species identified. The most observed species recorded and seen were California Scrub-Jay, California Brittlebush, Yellow- Crowned Night- Heron, Western Fence Lizard, European Sea Rocket and Lemonade Berry.

Check our iNaturalist project to see all the species we saw: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/sdas-species-count-2023  and stay tuned for next year’s Bioblitz.
